The fact that you are concerned about these things shows that you are serious about performance. Not only will a well-tuned snowboard give you better glide and grip when you want it, it will also allow you have have a better time on the snow. That is what it's all about too, right?Try the Test Pilot Tune Kit.
Here you got your speed wax, hot wax, scraper, buffer, edge tool, base cleaner and more all in a handy little tin you can keep stashed in a locker or in the car.
Hey frosty I'm getting a new Burton Shaun White Small. I need it to last a couple years so would you recommend me getting it re hot waxed after 20 times use.
Waxing every 20 times out is not enough. If you want a board to last you need to wax it more often than that.
Hey, check out my snowboarding size calculator!http://frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htmIt will find the right size snowboard for you taking into account your height, weight, gender, style of riding, and more! Please check it out and let me know how you like it.
BTW – Salomon replied to my email. They said that their bindings come with a six-hole pattern, thereby allowing compatibility with Burton boards… aint that just sweet?!
Yes, that is sweet! to know. Thanks for letting us know.

Sure thing dude, just start a new thread here and ask your questions that way 😉
Hi,Although the burton custom-x is a sweet board, you will find it to be a bit too big and you will DEFINATELY have a better time on something more suited to size. Save the custom-x for when you get bigger or trade it in at a shop.MOST binding companies make 3-hole discs. Some includ ethem and some are extra $$ and some you just need to request them. CHeck with your retailer to be sure.
Sup Ben,Look for a board 23-24cm wide and 148-154cm length. Width is more important than length. As for the Burton compatibility thing, Burton boards come with a THREE HOLE pattern for mounting the bindings. All other boards have a FOUR HOLE pattern, so the standard bindings have compatibility for the FOUR HOLE pattern. When you buy your bindings, ask for the 3 hole centers (discs) and you should be all set.FR
Check out these guys for replacement parts. or search Ebay for “Snowboard Replacement Parts”MSM is good stuff for health too 🙂 Also, ask some of the guys at the Snowboard shops and rentals, they will know where to get some of that stuff.
Hey, they are both Burton boards, so can't diss either one. I think the Whites look nice. Might want to check out the reviews too.
So you are 21 years of age, so you will most likely not be sprouting any taller. You are 173CM tall, and 73kg (approx 161 pounds) (approx 5' 7″), and the board is 163cm.Your feet are US sz9 and thebaord is 25cm at the waist.I am sorry to say the board is too big for you. Only slightly, but enough to make a difference. You want a board about 6-10cm shorter and waist width 24.7cm to 24.8cm IMO. On a board like that you will have a MUCH better time on the snow, and hey – that's what it's all about, right?
Hey, well I have a few questions for you about this board size issue.1) What is your shoe size?2) What is the waist width of the board (in cm)?3) How old are you? Also, you mentioned about a great deal. So where did you get it from?
Can you give me some more info on your height, weight, shoe size, experience and style of riding?
No worries about your weight, the more you ride the more excercise you will be getting :)As for board size, remember WIDTH is the most important factor. Use a board that gives you enough toe and heel hang for good leverage, but not too much that it would drag in the snow. My rule is 1/4 to 1/2 inch boot hang on both heel and toe side. As for snowboard length, a longer board will help you GO straighter and faster, a shorter board will help you TURN faster and be more manuverable. Ride On,Frosty
