IS there anything like a wax that you can just rub on real quick at the mountain to make your board slicker without scraping  or anything like that?  Or what about an edge sharpener that  has pre set angles side and bottom so that you can give your board a quick edge sharpening.  (you know what I mean)

The fact that you are concerned about these things shows that you are serious about performance.  Not only will a well-tuned snowboard give you better glide and grip when you want it, it will also allow you have have a better time on the snow.  That is what it's all about too, right?Try the Test Pilot Tune Kit.Test-Pilot_Tune_Kit-thumb.jpgHere you got your speed wax, hot wax, scraper, buffer, edge tool, base cleaner and more all in a handy little tin you can keep stashed in a locker or in the car.

I have never seen anything like that.  LOL, most of the time i just use a file for sharpenning (sometimes) and a stone for deburring (most of the time).  Keeping your steel edges free from burrs is the most important thing IMO.

Ok.  I get free sharpenings anyway.

hey this will sound a little stupid but what is a “burr” on a snowboards metal edge?

A burr is a deformation of the metal wherein it raises up and causes the serface to not be smooth anymore.  If you run your fingernail up and down the edge you can feel it “grab” where there is a burr (be careful, it could cut your finger!).  Burrs are especially hard since they are typically formed then the steel edge hits a rock or other hard surface and sparks — the spark forms heat and actually tempurs the steel.  Most burrs can be removed easily with a tuning stone, however nasty ones may require a diamond stone.
