well i was really hoping i would never have to add my own story here, but i am out for awhile 🙁  I fell on saturday, i was off of a trail in the trees, because there was more powdery snow in there, (but apparently not enough, ugh), i ran into a tree branch or something under the snow and fell, when i fell i landed full force on my side on a tree stump kinda thing that was sticking up a under the snow.  i went to the drs yesterday, i have a bruised rib and a hematoma (? i think thats what it is, its like a severe bruise),  im lucky thats all it ended up being.  So lets hope i am the last one to have to post their story here this season!

those are all nice boards, some definitely pricier than others.  Burton and K2 are reputable companies, its more just a preference thing.  So you need to consider your budget, and how much you want to shell out.  Being your first board you will likely be hard on it.

I agree with what Frosty said about getting a lesson.  I tried to learn on my own initially and it was a disaster. I rented the first few times until I new I was hooked, then I invested in my own equipment.  Rental fees add up very fast, but I would rent at first until you are sure you like it.  (I'm sure you'll love it tho its way more fun than skiing)

dialing in two zones for upper and lower boot is great and no longer get foot cramps after a full day on the mountain…

my boots have upper and lower zone cords also and I love how you can customize the fit with them.  I had thought about going back to traditional lace up boots but don't think I will now.

Glades are just riding in the trees.  Its a blast!  Where I ride at Jay Peak in VT they are famous for their glades.  I know other East Coast resorts have them too…But J is the best haha watch this…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJixEIlwupg

Those people are lucky, this could have been alot worse.  Have you guys ever had a bad personal experience with a lift/tram/gondola? When I was at Jay Sunday we took the tram, it was kinda windy when we loaded but nothing major.  Once we got going up the wind came up something wicked, by the time we got to tower 2 the tram was swinging so bad the operators had to bring it to a stop it so we didn't slam into the tower.  They shut it down on high wind delay after our trip up.  I was totally freaked out, I can just imagine how scary this must have been for these people.Would you go on Whistlers new peak to peak lift? I would probably have a panic attack if you are that high up the whole time but I would definitely try it!

Hope you have a great trip. I would love to go anywhere where you can ride in open snowfields above the treeline.  I've never done that before.  🙂

That sounds like a really cheap deal (if I did my currency conversion correctly, haha). Do you know any more about what brand the board/bindings are? i'm not an expert but I don't think the difference in length would be too much of a big deal….

So is this a long drive for you to get to? I laughed when I saw the resort name, we have a mad river resort in VT, but they hate snowboarders, you aren't allowed to snowboard there, unless you poach 😉

I would love to be able to go snowboarding in Europe.  Are lift tickets expensive? Post pics if you have them!  🙂

how much are replacement cords? ive always been curious about that.

I got my boots back today, burton charged $25 for labor and new cord system.  I guess thats ok (?), I don't really have anything to compare this to.  Just glad to have mah own boots back again  :P…….

Nice! This is really well-thought out.  I like the responsibilities listed, especially having members be active on the forums.  Additionally, the blog and team member sections would be very cool.  I belong to a girlie snowboard site and blogs and raffles and that sort of thing they have are very popular.
