Hey shredders welcome back to THE FROSTY REPORT
Khloe Kim dominated the Aspen halfpipe competition for the second week in a row. She stomped a front side double cork 1080, securing her victory over in Boston. Get ready for the return of Red Bull Heavy Metal, this epic Street snowboarding competition will take place at City Hall Plaza and let’s not forget Danny Davis’ legendary party in the Peace Park event. Riders threw down incredible tricks at Woodward Park City on February 8th. Stay tuned for more competition updates next week.
This Week: Big News in the Snowboarding World!
Scott Stevens, after 19 years with Union Bindings, has joined forces with Face. Speaking of Union Bindings, Travis Rice teamed up with them on a brand new snowboard boot. Shaun White is making moves too – his brand Whitespace just dropped the Freestyle Shawn White Pro Model Snowboard. And for all you vintage lovers out there, CNCPTS and Burton have collaborated on a collection celebrating three decades of shredding! Don’t miss out!
Tragically, a snowboarder was found dead at Winter Park Resort in Colorado, this follows a multi-day search. A lawsuit has been filed against Heavenly Mountain Resort in Lake Tahoe after a snowboarder death in Vermont. Additionally, a child snowboarder had a close call but was rescued unharmed from a chair lift at Killington Resort and over at Attitash Mountain in New Hampshire, a chair fell off a ski lift resulting in one injury. Safety is Paramount, folks – always be aware of your surroundings!
Utah Ski Areas are facing challenges: record heat and low snow pack have impacted conditions; however, there’s a glimmer of hope – a Lena-like weather pattern could bring late-season storms!
