That does sound sweet, I would love to spend a few months hittin up resorts all over the country…maybe during better economic times…But I'll be heading to Salt Lake for a week in January, then a weekend in Tahoe with a whole bunch of friends in a cabin.  Other than that, just trying to head up to tahoe as often as possible.

Im ready, me and my crew have our trips planned. We just have to fill in the dates and wait for the weather report.1st, we're going to warm up with the usual Indiana Paoli/Perfect North setup probably until the end of January.February brings our road trip Colorado to hit where ever we can find! bum around the state and hit as many resorts as possible.come home after the 2 weeks in 'rado to save relax and booze it up. We'll be sleeping in the SUV to save money haha. Then its off to Jackson Hole to get some insanity. Jackson Hole is heaven. Dont know why.March and April will be a few trips to a few cities like Chicago for street riding. But this could change to any time they geta huge dump of snow. Even Louisville Ky is an option due to the insane skatepark there. But to finish off the season with perfection, spring break at Whistler.(we're shooting a vid so w

t-shirts and stickers are probably the best way to get the word out.thats what i notice 1st when i meet people on the slopes. stickers onthe board and t-shirts their wearing.you could do something like those topsheet covers i was posting abouta month ago for anyone that wins a comp and is sporting a sticker or shirtor gear that gets your name out as a reward for props or something. startingsmall is a good thing, especially if you threw in an option of being able to takeyour favorite board and put a specially designed frosty rider “personalized” boardyou know? i think those topsheet stickers are full vinyl covers and start at like $60so its not a killer investment for a podium placement photo op of your website.you can also do mini rail jams at your local resort or get some of us to do them at ourhome resorts for almost nothing.  Paoli lets you put on your own con

yeah its definitely pricey, you'll find that with most of the bigger resorts in the state, especially central and southern VT.  Where I ride its not as expensive, http://www.jaypeakresort.com (click on winter) and they have packages and specials throughout the season.  They didn't have a pipe last year but they have in past years.  They have some park stuff in 2 or 3 small parks but not a ton of it.  Really what they are known for is their natural terrain (glades!) and abundant snowfall…The hours there are about the same also, they open at 8:30 on weekends and lifts stop at 4.  If you want to ride at night Bolton Valley is a good place to go, i dont know their web address offhand…

on the lower east side its always http://www.cataloochee.com . its honestly what they're famous for.its a small mountain, but they opened mid november when the rest of the resorts in the area(even as far up as indiana) didnt open till almost christmas closing break.for a good resort, go to perfect north http://www.perfectnorth.com its about an hour outsideof louisville and its REALLY pushing the 400 mile mark. im in nashville and you're about3 hours south of me, and it takes me 3 hours to get there… so figure about 6 hours.(though if you wanted to hang out and ride with the group of guys i ride with theres prollysomeone you could crash with half way, atleast thats  a plus).paolipeaks.com is also about an hour away from louisville.the differences are, paoli usually has really bad snow. its more like hail unless its midtemps (30-40) but they have a technical park thats almos

I have heard about these indoor ski/snowboard hills in Asia, but in North Carolina?nbsp; WOW!  The first fully indoor ski resort in the United States.  Six lift and some runs are over three quarters of a mile long, pretty nice.  WTG NC 🙂  2_31_03_08_5_17_34.jpgOther indoor ski slopes.World Indoor Snow Resorts Snozone PicturesDubai SnowdomeAllrounder

Bulgaria was Ok. Resorts are really small though so unless you're a beginner you'll get bored in two days! Food wasn't great either!  😕 Definately won't be going back. I'm still praying I win the lottery and can get across to Whistler!!!  😛 But will probably end up in the Alps! Hoping for some Scottish action this weekend though!!!

Once you get the basic technique and form it really is about confidence and comfort.  It's all about your personal interest and motivation.  Just like your shouldn't let anyone force you into doing something your not comfortable with, you shouldn't allow people to hold you back.  Just remember not to ride outside your ability.Me, I have been riding maybe about two dozen times and the blacks out here scare the living bejesus out of me.  Even some of the blues at the big resorts are very intimidating in spots.

Maybe someone can answer this for me.  I started riding this past November, and maybe have been out 8-10 times, each time spending at least 4-5 hours riding.  I guess for a newbie I am  pretty good, I am already getting confident enough to catch about 6 inches of air off of bumps.  But my question has to do with consistency of designating runs on different resorts. Before this season I had never stepped foot on a ski resort, but had already heard of the types of runs; Green, Blue, Black, Double Diamond. By the end of December I had already started experimenting with Blue trails since the flat parts of Green trails had me frustrated cause I constantly came to a stop.  But at some resorts, I have noticed extreme differences in how difficult the blue runs were at different resorts.  For example I noticed at Echo Mtn, and Breckenridge the Blue runs were very simple, even the steep slopes.  However at A-Basin and Keystone I thought I was going to tumble down the mountain in a white cloud of snow because they were so steep and fast.  Is this typical of ski resorts to have great variances in degrees of difficulty?  I hate to go back to green runs because of the flat areas, but I definitely don't want to ride out of control.  Or does this highlight the learning curve of snowboarding.  For example the resorts I went to since riding blues have been Keystone, A-Basin, Keystone, Echo Mtn, Keystone, A-Basin, and Breckenridge.  And while at Breck this past weekend I was having such an easy time on the Blues I was tempted to go on some Blacks until I saw that they were all moguls.  Is this typical?  Or am I crazy?

I have a season pass to Heavenly in Lake Tahoe, so I'll be up there most weekends (if i have the money).  Also going for a week to Salt Lake City.Speaking of which, does anyone know any good resorts in the Salt Lake City area? I'm seriously thinking about buying a Super Pass, which includes four days at Snowbird, Alta, Solitude and Brighton, plus roundtrip bus fare for only $106!  Sounds like a good deal, except for the fact that you cant snowboard at Atla  🙁  but 3 resorts in four days for that price is still pretty dam cheap.

I agree brad.  But not everyone has the means to access the backcountry.  You should definitely know what you are doing when you go to the backcountry or even to the top of the chair lift at a resort.  If you need advice, hire a pro instructor — most resorts have them for hire through the “Ski/Board School” department.Hey check out the new g@llery.  This pic may give you a good idea as to how to get off the chairlift properly.2_15_10_07_8_22_28.jpg

my boot size is 10.5-11.  i go to big bear a lot (so cal) and go to the resorts there, so depending on the time of the season it can be all natural snow or sometimes man made snow.  they have runs with jumps and rails, so i was hoping to try those out, along with just cruising down the mountain.  thanks again for the help
