For some reason every time I come to this thread I really enjoy it.
LMAO
Frosty read my mind Yea just take it to the shop.Looks pretty good from the pic- i doubt youd need much more than wax and probably an edge tune up.
i bought a dud board due to the discoloration
Oooh you mean the ones that dont make it through quality control at the factory like cuz of a minor issue?Thats interesting….If i were u id just take it to the shop and see if they know anything / get it waxed.
Lol I should really try to get a snowboard with a black base next time. Thanks
Sorry frosty I’m just too lazy. I outlined it tho here. Kinda right in the center of that red square is a little blackness. I was just curious if anyone’s seen anything like that after a waxing. No big
Wow that seems like a pretty good deal. Im gone ask aboutt it next time i go to my shop. Thanks
Ok I got it back today. Here’s how the p tex went:
. They definitely filled it in good and every thing but it doesn’t look soo great. Like my snowboard has stitches. O well. And there’s a lil black line in this pick right above the hand. Anyone know why this might be. They rewaxed the entire thing btw.
Sry the pics aren’t the best, I took em with my phonehttps://frostyrider.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/scratch-on-snowboard-base-36_15_01_09_5_49_58.jpg
No prob.Thats what were here for :)Yea Ive seen that sight before. Very informative….
we're all friends 😀
lmao
awe josh does that mean you hate me? 🙁
Na of course not lol.It was just funny how you put it imo 🙂
we're all friends 😀
lmaoBut yea welcome! That sucks about your ride. Good to see your not bummed tooo much tho dudet.
Well I saw a youtube video it said you light the tip of the candle on fire and kinda rub it on the spot/let it drip.Thats all I know though lol Ive never actually done it or anything.
Well they charged me like 50. All I need is the p tex (ive only been riding the thing like 4 days) but they say they have to wax and sharpen it after the ptex lol. Hopefully that number wont go up. I cant write the article…. lol I can help edit it thoughThe article'll probably be a good push for me to get started waxing my self. Sounds good 🙂
There is a topic here: http://www.frostyrider.com/boards/index.php/topic,234.0.html which talks a lot about goofy/regular. Dont worry TOO much about that though cuz in the end hopefully you will feel comfortable riding either way (switch). And there isnt a perfect way to figure it out besides just riding. Have fun!
If you want to learn it is best not to experiment but learn from an experienced pro. Done improperly, self waxing could keep your board from sliding right, shorten the lifespan of your board, and improper technique could even make you sick (from inhalation of smoking fluorinated wax material).
Travz is experienced :DIdk though I might just leave it to the pros at the shop. Sounds like a lotta work too with shaving off that wax but idk. I dont like giving my ride to some guy at the shop. Idk what they be doiin back there lol
sintered is harder to put huge gashes in than extruded, but when you put a very very deep one, the board is pretty much considered trash, because it costs too much to grind it that far down and build it back up again.
That almost made me cry travz. (jk kinda) I put a uber deap gash in mineFrostys post was a nice relief though. lol
