Hi and welcome to the Frosty Rider snowboarding forums. When you say, “Whats the difference between snowboard inside curves and measurements.” I am not sure exactly what da heck you mean! Can you rephrase your question?
Well, I have never gotten a good gander at airsofting goggles, but seems like they should be ok. Any protection is WAY better than nothing.
Oh yeh, those are cool deals. I love it when a shop is cool enough to consider somethign like that. It usually means they really know their stuff and have good relationships with the manufacturers and reps and stuff.
If you are on a rail and feel like your board is starting to slip out from under you, try to eject cleanly to the side. Push off a little so you can get enough air to adjust and get your board steered straight ahead again. As with any landing, a slight “stomp” and the end is good for setting the board in it's path.
Dang, that would have been sweet. Oh well, try to get some pics next time!Yeh, landing switch off a boardslide can be tricky. While finishing the slide, try to have your hands already in the position your feet will be in when you land. Then when you hop off, your feet will come around to match up.
Oh, do you mean like a trade-in deal like at a car dealership?
Alright, I am going to Tremblant (Northern Montreal, Quebec, Canada) So I will try it there.Thanx!
Man, you are so lucky! I have always wanted to go there :oIf you take pictures, send them this way so we can post them up in the photo gallery. Try to get some of you doing a boardslide too! Have a great time and stay safe.
Good advice, some. Also, think about it a lot before you go and do it. Step off your board and walk around the rail and look at different angles. Then when you go to do it go full on into the slide. You MUST commit. If you half-ass it you will crash. If you do not feel like you can do it then go to something smaller first and work up your confidence to the bigger stuff.
someguy wrote:well i am getting a package deal and people tell me that you get a free board when you grow out of your first one, but do youLol, well there are not really free boards. You have to pay one way or another. Just go with one you feel is best for you at the time and that you feel is a fair price.
Yeh, use your back hand to push yourself away from the chair, but don’t hang on to the chair!
Some boards have sidewalls (sidewall construction) and some have caps (capped construction). There is not much difference between them. There used to be only a sidewall construction, where the different layers of material that make the snowboard were like a sandwitch and a sidewall was glued onto the sides to fill in that space. Then a few years back, they came out with capped, where the topsheet wrapped over the side down to the edge, thus eliminating the need for the sidewall material. At this time, some manufacturers claimed increased performance from their capped construction models and that may have been true but it really depended on the model and the preference of the rider. All-in-all though it really doesnt matter as far as performance or anything; in fact, it is mainly cosmetic.Seems like many of todays baords are incorporating a

Some even have a hybrid sidewall which is like a straight side and a slant in one. No biggie. Just like all other industries, the evil marketing people need to find excuses to charge more and more $$ for newer models.
Ride on,
Frosty RWhat’s airsofting ?
No problem dude. Rock on!
If it is a minor scratch, a good hot-wax will fill it in – at least temporarily. If it is a deep scratch (like from hitting rocks) you will have to fill it with p-tex. Most people leave this stuff to the techies at the snowboard shop.
Try to keep you balance of weight right over your edge. You can tip the board on edge as you feel necessary, but do that by creating angles with your ankles, knees, hips, waist, etc.; not by leaning. If you lean too far to the heal or toe side, the edge will slip out from under you!
