If you look in the Gallery on this site, under “all snowboarding images” there is a picture in the 4th row down that should help, it is a pic of a snowboard base that needs work, the dry spots are highlited, along with some other issues the base has. This pic should help you 🙂
Nice list! Here's my additions–drink less Mt Dew when riding, (for some reason I crave it when I ride).-be braver-learn to ride switch -encourage more girls to learn to ride
With a size 11 boot, you can probably ride either a wide or regular board because you are right on the threshold of a wide anyway. I'm not very familiar with the boards you have chosen, but if you get some stats on them, we can start pointing you in the right direction. Can you get the actual width and/or flex of the boards? Also do you plan on doing all park, or just jumps/just rails? I think you will be fine with a 156, it should ride basically the same as the 155. Some companies do only odd sizes and some only do even, some do both. If you are learning, shorter and more flex should make things easier especially learning park 🙂 If you plan on learning big kickers you need to think about a stiffer board, but if its medium jumps and rails that interest you, you should stay on the softer side (flex 1-4).Hope this helps, get back with any additional info yoWith a size 11 boot, you can probably ride either a wide or regular board because you are right on the threshold of a wide anyway. Sorry about the delay, Christmas is making things a bit hectic. Hopefully Frosty will be able to weigh in on this post as well. 🙂I've ridden when its that cold before, it's slow going! Feels like gravel stuck to the bottom of your board lol
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! That's so awesome!Secondly, I would have to say Whistler, BC. my other choice would be the Lake Tahoe area.
Its not too hard to carry your snowboard and strap in and what not though right?I think frosty wears mittens…
I can do pretty much everything with mittens that I can with gloves. I think you'll be fine if you go the mittens route.
My fingers also freeze when I wear gloves, the only solution for me was to buy mittens (I ended up paying like $70 for mittens that were rated for super cold weather). Hopefully you won't have to go that route but it was the only thing that worked for me. On super cold, below zero days I wear those disposable hand warmers inside the mittens, one usually lasts 4-5 hours. Costco sells them by the box, which is a lot cheaper than paying a couple dollars each for them at the resort.
Hi and welcome to the forums! You bought a Burton board, correct? If thats true then you don't really have to do anything, Burton boards usually come nicely tuned and waxed right from the factory. Other people may want to jump in here, but I believe you should be fine.Good luck on your upcoming season, and don't be a stranger here!-R
I keep getting an error message stating “you are not allowed to view the gallery” ….not sure if I'm the only one getting this message or not, or if I'm doing something wrong. Probably the latter, lol…
I hear ppl camp out for that sale haha
We're planning on doing that actually! Thats right, sleeping in the car Thursday night. I'm really excited 😛
My snowboard season was amazing 🙂 i finally hit a box and landed it, even though it was tiny it was a huge accomplishment for me. I learned how to do a tail press too , thanks to travz//. 😛 Even though this is not snowboard related, I'm learning to golf!!! I'm so excited about that, we should start a golf thread for the summer months lol. I have an amazing teacher, too 😉

mmhmm your board was tricky to ride! going from my riding my board to trying to ride your board was like going from driving a lil car to driving 18 wheeler! yeah i got snow rash, thats what you get from riding in summer clothes! 😛

I got hurt during that too :(…stomach pains from laughing so hard! It was epic! And yes, a meet up next year would be great! I'm already excited!
