Hey, it is my first time snowboarding this winter and I need to know if it is necessary to buy some goggles? I see all teh guys in the X-games wearing them.
Anything is better than nothing when it comes to eye protection, but goggles offer the best protection AND they help you see better in snowey, glarey, or other low-viz situations.
Protection from what?
– Eyeball sunburn
– Windburn
– Poke-in-the-eye from a putz with a ski pole
– Other stuff too
You can get Scott goggles for pretty cheap. It would probably be easier to get a new pair than replace the lens. I wear goggles because I wear contacts. If I go down the mountain without them, my contacts dry up. No fun.
