I don't think the extra half inch would matter but I honestly don't know. Feel free to tell me if it's a decent (or not) beginner set up.January 6, 2011 at 2:15 am #3699
I like the board and bindings for sure. I would go with the DC boots as you will be happier with their reputation for being durable and better performing than the cheapies. Why get a boot then have to upgrade the very next season? My 2cents.
January 6, 2011 at 3:10 am #3701I agree. I think that I will get the DC's and stuff tissue paper in them if it's a problem, which I doubt.
January 6, 2011 at 6:24 am #3703Instead of tissue paper, use an insole that is thicker (takes up more volume) and/or use thicker socks. Those things work REALLY well. (Don't double up socks though, just use thinner or thicker socks to get the best fit in your snowboard boots — that's the key)
January 7, 2011 at 9:01 pm #3707Alright man, I'll keep that in mind.
January 10, 2011 at 12:44 am #3710I can't update my post so I'll make another one :/. Is there any way I can select the color of the board I get? Or even know what color I'll get? I ask because in one picture it shows 2 color schemes but no way of choosing one. Or is one the top and one the bottom? If it is, how can I tell which scheme is which? I ask because I want my bindings to match the board.
January 10, 2011 at 5:04 am #3711Just give them a call directly …http://helpdesk.the-house.com/index.php?page=contact_us_opening_hoursThey will be happy to answer your questions.
January 11, 2011 at 10:21 pm #3720I love “The-House.com”. I think they have the most amazing customer service. When I ordered one of my boards at pre-season (full price), the guy I talked to physically walked out to the warehouse and grabbed my snowboard and put it in his office, and mailed it to me the next day.Well at least he said he did. I remember it almost being sold out, and him telling me he would pick it up and put it away so no one would order it and it accidentally ship.Great group of guys. They have 90% of my snowboarding business. The other is No school snowboard shop at Smugglers Notch, or Darkside shop in Stowe.

Wow, that is awesome! All businesses should be more like that.
January 12, 2011 at 12:08 am #3724I agree. Even if it was just the assurance that my “high risk sell-out” snowboard was going to me, it made me feel like i had an inside friend. They have always been 100% upfront with me,and even if what I want is sold out, they let me know, not keeping me guessing.
