February 21, 2009 at 4:34 am #291Okay so… I've been snowboarding once. I took a lesson, and I'm not very good, etc etc. I'm dead set on doing it until I'm good and can actually make it down the bunny hill. :|Anyway, I've decided to invest in my own gear so that I don't have to keep renting. I could go through the whole thing about my size, and what size board I need, etc, but I'm pretty sure that I'll be going for a 148cm. (i used the calculator already and been browsing the site and these forums over and over again.)I found a board with graphics that I really, really like and I'm just wondering if it's a suitable board to be a first board: Sims Citrine (from 05 I think?? the one with the black cat). I tried to compare it to the recommended boards, but I couldn't really tell. What do you think? I wish I weren't so picky about design!http://wOkay so… I've been snowboarding once. Welcome to the Frosty Rider forums!I think getting your own equipment will definitely help progress you to the next level. You will be leaving the bunny hill WAY behind soon thereafter. The Sims board looks really cute. It reminds me of Emily Strange. Although, the little children having the séance (topsheet graphic) is a bit creepy. I think it is a good choice for all levels of snowboarding. It is not especially for freestyle or freeride only, so it should be a good all-around stick. Plus, it's a Sims and it's only $179.95, that rocks!
February 23, 2009 at 2:50 pm #3375Okay cool thanks! That was the kind of reply I was hoping for (to help prove my judgment was actually okay). I can't wait to order all of my gear, which I already have bookmarked. I'm so excited. :mrgreen:And thanks for the welcome! I'll probably be hitting the forums up a lot more!
