I just went to Big Powderhorn over the weekend, its about 40 mins from Mercer, WI. I'm from chicago, and it took about 6hrs to get there. We all had a great time, great conditions for this year! I even hit a good amount of powder, and don't think i hit any ice. There are two other resorts connected to it also you can go to…Indianhead and Blackjack…haven't been to those however. We went to Whitecap – on the second day of our trip, and it was horrible – not very snowboarder friendly, rough n tough runs – so avoid that place like the plague! I'll tell you that I'm a total newb – this is my first season (and i'm so excited) and I've only gone a few times – so I had a real hard time there – very icy/hard….even the experienced riders I was with had a difficult time….made me lose my conf
