March 11, 2013 at 2:38 am #1150Hello everyone!
So a little background on my snowboarding experience..is…virtually nothing. I snowboarded for the first time back in January and two more times after. The most recent time I went I took a private lesson and learned how to do S-Turns. (Wooo!) I already bought a pair of boots (K2 Kat BOA) and bindings (K2 Mini Turbo).
I’m 5’2, 115lbs and shoe size 4.5/5.I’m 19 so I’m done growing, so I’m hoping this board will last me until something breaks.I don’t really mind using youth gear since it’s cheaper and it fits. This is the board I’m interested in.
K2 Skyla 2011 (138cm)
Rome Strut Bindings (sm)Seller is willing to sell it for $180
Can anyone give me any advice on the board? Does it look like it’s in good condition? And also, the seller won’t let me purchase just the board so should I use the Rome

Can anyone give me any advice on the board? Does it look like it’s in good condition? And also, the seller won’t let me purchase just the board so should I use the Rome bindings or the K2 Youth ones I already bought? (I can still refund them). Last time, I used a 135cm rental board and I thought it was a bit short and thought the 143cm was too big so this should be a good fit?I’d really appreciate any advice any of you have since I don’t know anything about snowboards!
March 11, 2013 at 2:52 pm #3914Looks like a good board. The best way to know if you like it or not is to try it. Worst case is that you dont like it, but with it looking that new it should be no big deal to sell it.The refund policy is up to the seller, just ask them and see what they say!
March 11, 2013 at 3:22 pm #3915Thanks for the quick reply! The seller doesn’t take refunds what I meant was the K2 Youth Bindings I bought from the store are refundable. I got them for $50 and was wondering if I should use those bindings instead of the Rome Strut ones the board will come with. The rome strut fits sizes 4-9 which seems like a large range while the ones I bought fit 2-5. However the K2 ones are youth so I’m not sure if they’d be less sturdy?
Also, I found another snowboard that’s only $70 and wanted to ask if this would be a better choice. It doesn’t come with bindings so I could use the ones I already have.
It’s a K2 Spire 139 (looks a bit old though) – not sure if it’s a men’s board or …
Roxy Inspire 134 $175But 134 seems a bit short.Would I be better off with the Skyla if I’m planning on sticking to this board for awhil
