I am a newbie. I have been boarding 5-6 times. I am still on my butt most of the time. My boyfriend described it as something like seeing a beached seal rolling around in the snow. But he's a skier, so what does he know, right..lol. Anyways, I am heavier than I really should be for my 5'0 frame. I just had a baby and still have the weight. I have a 142 Lamar board brand new and a hand-me-down well used 136 Molly board which I have been practicing with. Since I am only 5'0, I know I need a small board and to go by the nose to shoulder rule, my length range is 134ish to 142. But since I am heavier…what board size should I be loooking for?

No worries about your weight, the more you ride the more excercise you will be getting :)As for board size, remember WIDTH is the most important factor.  Use a board that gives you enough toe and heel hang for good leverage, but not too much that it would drag in the snow.  My rule is 1/4 to 1/2 inch boot hang on both heel and toe side.  As for snowboard length, a longer board will help you GO straighter and faster, a shorter board will help you TURN faster and be more manuverable.  Ride On,Frosty
