October 12, 2009 at 9:01 pm #317I'm planning on getting into snowboarding this year and I might buy my stuff online. I started snowboarding last year and went prob 4 times on rental boards, so I can pretty much keep myself up on intermediate hills. I did the sizing guide and it says my board size is 158 and board waste width is 152-153 (not sure if I'm better a 10.5 or 11 boot size). My main question is if the only two options for boards are 157 and 159, should I go shorter or longer board? I plan on doing all mountain and mainly keep to the hills. Also for bindings, since my feet is around 10.5 – 11, would I go with medium or large bindings? Also, if anyone has tried or own these boards I'd really appreciate the input as I'm really considering them :). 1) Nitro Magnum gunslinger 2) Nitro Team and the Rossignol Premier (If it matters, they're all the 2009 model). My budget for bindings is $150 – $170.October 13, 2009 at 1:41 am #3484
How tall are you? 157 and 159 isn't much of a difference. You should go by the weight recommendations on the snowboard you decide to get. Ccheck with the manufacturer to see what binding sizing is likenfor them, but you probably need a large.
October 13, 2009 at 5:19 am #3485I'm 5'10 – 5'11 and weigh 155 pounds. What do you mean by binding size, are different boards only capable of having certain bindings?
October 13, 2009 at 2:31 pm #3486I am talking about binding sizing. You can look at this sizing chart for ride bindings as an example http://www.evogear.com/info/helpcenter/192.aspx . That tells you what size binding you need for a specific foot size. For example, Ride's shaped/response line in size Large should work with boot sizes from 8-12.Every manufacturer is different though
October 14, 2009 at 4:00 pm #3491I decided to choose the nitro team art attack 159 and rome arsenal bindings. Before I click purchase i'd like to know if anyone has used the rome arsenals? and just making sure… there's only 2 sizes and i chose L/XL which is from 9-14, would that work on my non wide board?
October 14, 2009 at 5:31 pm #3492I really hope for your own sake that you've seen what you are buying in person. Any pair of bindings will screw into any snowboard (unless you are dealing with Burton or something)
