Interesting recommendation. I have been skiing 40+ years and I am considering new skis. My last 2 pair were the Head Cyber (180s) and Atomic SX-11s (170s). These skis are both good if tuned (edges softened several inches back from front touch point). The “Rocker” feature seems to have taken care of this problem…what do you think? I plan on buying again this year if I can be convinced with the new models??? ***Also I believe that many ACL injuries have been caused by the “tail shape curve” when certain ability levels get stuck in the back of their skis exiting a turn. The tails should have been de-tuned. Hopefully the newer models have addressed this. I WAS a Certified EPSIA Instructor many moons ago and plan on skiing more, starting this season. I am still an aggressive skier and want the best suggestion as I will start skiing 50+ days again starting this year. I used to ski 150 days a year untill I took a “REAL” job! Thoughts appreciated, Chuck PS…here's to a “Frosty” winter for all ski enthusists!
Hi Chuck,”what do you think?”I agree with you about the ACL injuries being caused by being “caught in the back seat” exiting a turn. The new rocker skis will help prevent that. Be prepared for something different. Much sharper turns in any condition. Much better in powder too! p.s.Do you mind if I post this up on our community forum? I think others would find it very insightful. Here here! Frosty
