Hey Frost,I just read your comment on wide boards on the previous post about wide boards and it raised a little bit of concern for me.  I recently purchased a used k2 instinct 162 wide board online without knowing that it was a wide board…  It was pretty much my fault for not noticing it and I can't return the board.  According to your board size calculator the length of the board is fine, but… I wear 9.5 boots and you said “- If you see less than a quarter inch or no boot at all chances are your board is too wide. (loss of leverage = bad)”.  I'm an intermediate rider and I do ride the diamonds.  How “bad” is this loss of leverage?  Is this board a lost cause for me and should i go ahead and try reselling the board an buy another? Please help me… I'm leaving for a trip next week.

Glad you caught that.  You would had been in for a big surprise!  Here is the simple answer for your dilemma.  If you want to keep the board for ONLY powder, it would npt be too bad, but at resort mountains, even on the best powder days you encounter packed trails and that's where you will really notice the loss of leverage.  You will not be able to get up on the edge easily and it is harder to balance there.  Most likely will ware you out in a couple runs = no fun.
