I used to live in Colorado and the combination of reliable snow, terrain, and selection of mountains is really hard to beat.  Yeah, I know they get a lot of money for their day passes there, that's why I worked at the mountain most of the time (for the free pass as a perk).  For the times I didn't I got the Summit Pass (A.K.A. Buddy Pass).  It used to be like half the price.  Now it is $459.  But still a good buy if you are going more than 5 or 6 times that season. Now if you are going to only be there for a weekend or something, here is a little secret.  You can get discounted lift passes from Safeway or King Soopers grocery stores.I found this on the internet, may help if you plan on staying  in the Denver area.Looking for a King Soopers near you?    1331 North Speer Blvd    Denver, CO 80204    303-571-5566    1155 East Ninth Avenue    Denver, C
