Should I do it my self? It would save me money which is the main push.But how hard is it to wax your snowboard your self? How messy?And whats the worst thing that could happen cause my snowboard is virtually new and i dont wanna mess it up. Can you like burn it or anything?
josh!its pretty simple. the only thing that sucks is, it'll completely wear your arms out.you'll need a cheap iron, or better yet a wax iron, either work. if you use a houseiron, dont use it on your clothes! (i learned that the hard way)if you want real time instructions, shoot me an instant message!you got yahoo or aim or something?we'll tackle this together!oh and worse case is you might heat your board up too hot and melt the bindingagent holding the board together…but that takes ALOT of heat. so dont really worryabout that too much.

Oh come on man thats not very comforting lol. If i do it ill buy an iron and everything so i guess that would help. Thanks
i really wouldnt worry about the glue thing man. keep your hand on the top sheet, and when you feel heat on it, take the iron off. thats the best judge when waxing. your topsheet will bubble before it seperates so dont worry too much about it. waxing your own board is very self rewarding 😀
There are a lot of things to know about waxing your own board. If you want to learn it is best not to experiment but learn from an experienced pro. Done improperly, self waxing could keep your board from sliding right, shorten the lifespan of your board, and improper technique could even make you sick (from inhalation of smoking fluorinated wax material).

Travz is experienced :DIdk though I might just leave it to the pros at the shop. Sounds like a lotta work too with shaving off that wax but idk. I dont like giving my ride to some guy at the shop. Idk what they be doiin back there lol
josh, that reason is exactly why i wax my own board. i have a guy that i trust at my shop, and ill get the 1st tune up of the year done there, but the waxing i do on my own (along with the edging)between the 3 of us, we should write a detailed and photographed how to on waxing, and sticky it for everyone to see. cause some of these shops are real quick to rip you off. (saying 15, and when you pick it up its 45 because they had to “decarbonizationalize” the base..and yes i made that up, but the price does usually change)what do you guys think? my recon is up for a wax, we could make it a great sticky. 😀

Well they charged me like 50. All I need is the p tex (ive only been riding the thing like 4 days) but they say they have to wax and sharpen it after the ptex lol. Hopefully that number wont go up. I cant write the article…. lol I can help edit it thoughThe article'll probably be a good push for me to get started waxing my self. Sounds good 🙂
Well I saw a youtube video it said you light the tip of the candle on fire and kinda rub it on the spot/let it drip.Thats all I know though lol Ive never actually done it or anything.
yeh i saw that same video or something similar i think. thats the way i did it.lite the stick on fire and drip it over the area then smooth it in. sweet. 😀

josh if you do decide to have this done at a shop (there should be someone reputable you can find if you ask around) I would ask about a tuning package. For only $120 my board is kept sweetly tuned all season, including 2 full tunes which you can't really do at home. Best part is, I leave the board off at nite and its ready and waiting for me to take it shredding the next morning. This is where I go and the tuning package. I think a lot of places have them.
