I'm a bit of a beginner, and I bought a secondhand board last year. It's “ltd Skat” and I haven't been able to find much about that board online. It's 138cm long, and I'm female, about 5'4″ and 127 Lbs. Is this a good size board? And is it a good brand or is it cheap? I haven't taken it to the hill yet because I need bindings. The straps on the bindings that were with it already became brittle and snapped so I'm a bit skeptical… Any tips or opinions would be appreciated!

Hi NJ,The LTD brand is for Limited Snowboards.  They are a long-time company, not premium by any means, but not too bad either.  They are good boards for beginners just getting into snowboarding.  If you get good boots and bindings, you can always upgrade boards later, so that's a cool thing.[smg id=89]As for size, that LTD Skat is a little bit small for you.  I think technically it's a “Boy's” board.  You can still possibly use it for a bit, but you may find that you experience heel/toe drag — what the ends of your boots hang over too far (1 inch or more) and drag in the snow and cause you to loose control. If you have spend for a new board, I can recommend some to you.

Hey thanks a lot, I figured it was too small but I wanted a second opinion. I've been looking for second hand boards my size but haven't had much luck. I might buy a new one, but I don't want to spend a whole lot. Are there any fairly low priced boards you would suggest? Thanks again, you've helped clear things up for me!

Sorry I put this off for a while, but I am happy to announce that the snowboard size calculator now has an option to show pricing.  That way now you can quickly/easily scan for lower priced board options!I hope you find that helpful.Happy Thanksgiving!

I found it at Sport Chek, wasn't planning on buying anything but when I saw the price I had to! Now I just need some bindings and I'm all set 🙂
